Psychedelic Glossolalia: what's the Universe Saying?

There is a recurring theme in psychedelic experiences which tells us that consciousness is prime to the structure of reality. Consciousness isn't something that emerges randomly from a physical world, but rather, the physical world only exists within consciousness. While we don't have a rigorously defined theoretical framework to know this, the experience speaks for itself. Scientists haven't been ready to prove that the brain generates consciousness. When scientists study the brain, they're doing so within the context of their own consciousness. In assuming that their consciousness is secondary to some kind of physical world, they're making a leap of religion . As conscious beings having a conscious experience, we've no possible way of knowing anything but consciousness, which which exists within it.

I want to present a theory of psychedelic glossolalia which may be a refinement of this notion that consciousness is prime to reality. i would like to travel a step further and say that language like human speech may be a fundamental a part of the structure of reality itself. When humans speak to every other, this is often not an emergent or arbitrary phenomenon. this is often a microcosm of some kind of transcendental language of the cosmos. The universe as an entire speaks during a unified and coherent way and it's possible through psychedelics and maybe through other means to listen to what it's saying. If citizenry are fragments of the one mind of God, then our speech may be a fragment of God's word.

Language is completely critical to our experience as citizenry . The lifetime of a person's being can in some sense be understood as a story. there's a notion of past, present and future. There are antagonists, protagonists, plot twists, adventures and metaphors. an individual's ability to achieve life is essentially supported their ability to construct a narrative about their life that effectively integrates with the meta-narrative of society. Everything is negotiable, even the foremost important of selections are made by citizenry and citizenry are always biased and somewhat hospitable negotiation. Not only are decisions hospitable language based negotiation, but decisions themselves are instances of language. Without language there are not any laws, categories, visual communication , verbal language, teamwork, planning, articulation of theories, science, philosophy, mathematics, socializing, dancing, computers, romance. To imagine life without language isn't even really an intellectually tenable concept. Language is so fundamental that to imagine a life without it's absurd.

We think of language as how one person communicates with another. or even more broadly how one organism communicates with another. But all physical phenomena are often understood on a micro level or a macro level. On a micro level, one organism speaks to a different . But on a macro level, boundaries are non existent and therefore the universe is just speaking. It's constantly saying something. once you speak that's a microcosm of what the universe is saying. And this divine sentence that the universe speaks isn't just a bunch of individuals talking over one another . during this case the entire is such a lot greater than the sum of its parts. The parts are arranged during a pattern that cannot be discerned from within one among the parts. If you heard this divine sentence, it might sound so familiar so on expand your notion of how familiar something can seem. it's partially in English because everything of English language is contained within it. So sometimes once I hear it I desire I can articulate it. I feel the words forming on the tip of my tongue but with certainty i can not say one word. Because English can't contain this sentence.

Experiences of ego death exist on a spectrum of intensity. At the far extreme, there's complete and utter ego death, where you become one with the whole universe. there's also partial ego death, where your sense of self expands but to not the complete size of the universe. Glossolalia may be a function of ego death, albeit ego death doesn't always produce glossolalia. Therefore there's a spectrum of boundary dissolution with glossolalia. At the acute of full ego dissolution, the experience is universal. there's just one universe, and it only speaks a method . there's just one such experience to possess . With partial ego dissolution, the ego remains somewhat intact and thus there's room for variation, personality and artistic expression. i might characterize full glossolalia as profound. i might characterize partial glossolalia as beautiful.

Partial glossolalia allows me to try to to two things. Firstly, during intense psychedelic experiences that are ineffable, I desire I can use glossolalia to articulate my experience. Not everything are often explained in english, but everything are often explained by glossolalia. If something is a component of the universe, it is sensible the universe would be ready to explain it. Secondly, partial glossolalia allows my mind to imagine really beautiful generalizations of language. Examples include "every love song ever written" and "every kind word ever spoken to cheer up someone who is upset". Individual love songs are just fragments of the one transcendental love song, which may be a real McCoy and may be heard. Partial glossolalia allows for selectivity. Full glossolalia includes everything including very negative or dark language. there's a beauty within the totality of all language, but there's a special quite beauty that needs selectivity.
